Our name is on the door for a reason.
Trowbridge Recovery Group is a family firm — a father and son who believe the recovery industry works best when it's transparent enough to be checked and accountable enough to be named.
Who we are
We're the Trowbridges. Kent Trowbridge leads client relationships and oversees every engagement personally — when you work with our firm, you work with him. McCabe Trowbridge leads research and operations, building the systems that match unclaimed funds held by the State of California to the businesses they rightfully belong to.
We founded this firm on a simple observation: the State Controller's Office safeguards billions in unclaimed property, the rightful owners can claim it at any time for free — and yet most never do, because no one ever tells them it's there. Someone should. We decided that someone should do it honestly: with proof up front, a fee capped by law, and a process where the State pays owners directly.
How we operate
Public records only. Our research uses public data — the State's unclaimed-property records and California's public business filings. We don't buy private data about you, and we don't ask for sensitive information in outreach.
Proof before pitch. Every first contact from us includes a Property ID you can verify independently on the State's own site, claimit.ca.gov, before we ask you for anything.
Human-verified. Every lead we act on is reviewed by a person before we contact anyone. We'd rather reach fewer businesses correctly than more businesses carelessly.
Capped and contingent. Our fee never exceeds 10% of the recovered amount — the maximum California law allows (Cal. Code Civ. Proc. § 1582) — and we're paid only when your recovery succeeds. The State pays your business directly; we never hold your funds.
